GameChanger named to Inc. 5000 List for Second Consecutive Year

GameChanger Products Named to the 2013 Inc. 500/5000 for the Second Consecutive Year

Inc. magazine today ranked GameChanger Products LLC at No. 1,195 on its 32nd annual Inc. 500/5000, an exclusive ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. The list represents the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy – America’s independent entrepreneurs. Companies such as Microsoft, Zappos, Intuit, Jamba Juice, Zipcar, Clif Bar, Vizio, Oracle, and many other well-known names gained early exposure as members of the Inc. 500/5000.

“At GameChanger we have continued to experience rapid growth and expansion as more major consumer brands realize the power of our Retail Labs, which demonstrate the power of live selling in product innovation, and our GC Combinator, which draws on the expertise of our network of entrepreneurs,” said Larry Popelka, CEO of GameChanger. “This recognition of being named to the Inc. 500/5000 for the second straight year is a result of our own innovation, hard work and commitment to excellence.”

The GameChanger Retail Lab allows companies to test new products in real grocery, mass, drug or club stores. They can test multiple shelf placements, price points, even different labels. It also allows companies to test different marketing tactics and evaluate the impact of each. All results are quantified with statistical error ranges, allowing companies to make better launch decisions. GameChanger also conducts qualitative in-store research and post-purchase research to evaluate reasons for consumer purchase and non-purchase of test items.
“The GameChanger Retail Lab is like the old control store test on steroids,” said Popelka. “Some of the learning that companies are getting from this tool is amazing. One of the tests we executed this year for a large packaged goods company was for a new package they were getting ready to launch. It had been tested in Nielsen BASES and scored well, but when we put it in store as a replacement for the existing item, sales declined by over 40%. From our qualitative in-store research we discovered that their everyday consumers were no longer recognizing it. Our test saved our client millions of dollars in potential lost business.”

The 2013 Inc. 500, unveiled in the September issue of Inc. (available on newsstands August 20 to November 20 and on Inc.com), is the most competitive crop in the list’s history. To make the cut, companies had to have achieved a staggering minimum of 918.59% in sales growth. The Inc. 500’s aggregate revenue is $14.1 billion, with a median three-year growth of 1739 percent. The companies on this year’s Inc. 500 employ more than 52,100 people and generated over 44,912 jobs in the past three years. Complete results of the Inc. 500|5000, including company profiles and an interactive database that can be sorted by industry, region, and other criteria, can be found at www.inc.com/inc5000.

“Not all the companies in the Inc. 500 | 5000 are in glamorous industries, but in their fields they are as famous as household name companies simply by virtue of being great at what they do,” said Inc. magazine Editor Eric Schurenberg. “They are the hidden champions of job growth and innovation, the real muscle of the American economy,”
